Entries For One Raceway Are Open, And Some Important Details
Entries to our Return to Goulburn race meeting February 1-2 are rolling in steadily and we are pleased to say that they have now passed 100. Some questions are arising, so we have some information to share to help prepare for a wonderful weekend of historic racing at the new One Raceway.
You can enter both for the meeting and Friday practice through the Motorsport Australia Event Entry system. All available information will be posted to the ‘Return to Goulburn’ page of the website.
If you would like to avoid the credit card surcharge, you can do so by completing your entry and then transferring the funds direct to the HSRCA bank account with a description including your surname and OR:
BSB: 062-205
Account: 10007952
Reference: OR + Surname
We Have a Dry-Hire Arrangement With One Raceway
This means that the HSRCA must organize everything that happens over the weekend, which will stretch our small team so please be understanding. There will be of course completely new infrastructure which we have not experienced, we will have to organize parking in allocated areas which may change over the three days, and we will all have to learn where everything is located.
Contacts before the event are Rod Wallace on 0417 273 912 for organizing matters, and Noel or Robyn Bryen our race secretaries. Reach out via email at mailto:noelbryen@gmail.com or mailto:treasurer@hsrca.com.
Please do not contact One Raceway, we are running the event!
Private Practice on Friday 31 January
Entry is via Motorsport Australia MEE, same as the entry for the weekend. We will be inviting GEAR members to join us on the Friday, which may include obtaining a one-day MSA licence from One Raceway (to be confirmed).
Bump-In on Thursday Evening 30 January
The circuit will allow us a limited timeframe to unload between 4:00pm and 5:30pm on Thursday evening. Please note these times as they are fixed, and the gates will then be closed. Of course, unloading on Friday may be more convenient.
Erecting Tents in the Paddock Areas.
Entrants are allowed to erect tents on the new concrete areas (which will be defined) as at SMSP, with no pegs of course. The grassed areas are not available for this event.
Noise Restrictions and Enforcement
The history of noise issues at this site has been well documented. The circuit is still subject to the previous restrictions, and the current rules to ensure compliance and the continuity of use are published on the One Raceway website as follows:
- Vehicles in track activity must not exceed 95db measured at 30 metres
- Monitoring is constant and breaches of the limit are reported immediately to race control, who will black flag any car which infringes, this is the only warning
- Participants will be given the opportunity to correct the noise by making practical alterations to the exhaust system, which will be inspected before the vehicle is allowed back on track – the alterations must be meaningful and do not include insertions into the exhaust system
- With prior approval, the car will be permitted back on track once, but if it offends the limits a second time it will be excluded from the remainder of the weekend event
- For completeness, this is part of our hire agreement: “The Hirer must enforce the strict requirement that noise emitted from any vehicle does not exceed 95dB measured at a designated point 30 metres from the race track”
- The HSRCA will not refund entry fees for competitors who are affected by a noise exclusion – as clearly as possible I must say you have been told. The limit is no different to the situation that applied at Wakefield Park under the previous owners
Please ensure that your car will comply before it leaves home.
MyLaps Transponders (For Timing)
One Raceway has set up their timing system as compatible only with the MyLaps system, and we will be providing these transponders gratis for this event. They will be handed out at check-in and will last all weekend.
We cannot use our Dorians at One Raceway.
Camping Onsite Will NOT Be Permitted
What is that old expression? Please do not ask, as refusal may offend!
Food and Drink Facilities
One Raceway is not yet operating the cafeteria and the HSRCA will therefore engage a food truck, supported by a coffee van onsite over all three days. We have selected a vendor who knows the site and provides a variety of foods, but of course you are always free to self-cater.
Spectators Will be Free Entry
We will not be charging for spectators on this occasion, for a few reasons. So, tell your friends and colleagues to come along, watch some great historic racing and keep the food vendors happy!
BBQ on Saturday night
We hope to provide a free BBQ onsite on Saturday evening for officials, competitors and friends (still to be confirmed).
The “Olympic Cabins” are Not Available to Hire, On This Occasion
You should book your Goulburn accommodation immediately as there is another large event planned for that weekend.
Circuit Closing Time
The circuit must be vacated by 6:00pm each day (except for the Saturday BBQ) and the gates will be locked.
